Thumbs Up For New Homes In Castle Caereinion

Local residents and invited guests were given an opportunity to look around the new homes now completed by Mid-Wales Housing Association in Castle Caereinion last Friday, 18th October, 2019.

The event was a great success with attendance from local residents including those who will be moving into the new homes, neighbouring residents, Glyn Davies M.P, Russell George AM, Community Councillors, Mid-Wales Housing Association and Williams Homes staff. The Association was pleased to receive positive feedback from all those who attended regarding the layout, space and design of the new homes.

The scheme developed by Williams Homes (Bala) Ltd, on behalf of Mid-Wales Housing provides six highly energy efficient family homes of two and three bedrooms in a prime central position in the village overlooking open countryside.

Mid-Wales Housing is pleased to have been supported by the Welsh Government in the funding of this scheme.

Mr. Alex Dawson, Senior Development Officer of Mid-Wales Housing said: "We are proud of the homes that we have developed in the village which provides quality affordable housing for local people. The scheme also supported local employment and opportunities through the procurement of the scheme".

He added: "The development has been built on land long identified by the community as suitable for affordable homes, in a rural location, where making such schemes a reality is a real challenge. The partnership with Williams Homes is a very positive way of dealing with such opportunities".

Tony Hughes, Commercial Director at Williams Homes said "We are very proud to have been involved on our first project in partnership with Mid-Wales Housing in Castle Caereinion. We would like to thank everyone in the local community for their support".

Mid-Wales Housing and Williams Homes have been pleased to be working closely with the local community throughout the scheme's development including an open day in July and also a site visit and talk with the children of Castle Caereinion primary school in May where children learnt about housing construction and safety. Williams Homes were delighted to support the school further by presenting a cheque for £500 to them at the event to help purchase equipment that will benefit the children at the school.

Mrs. Sian Howells, Director of New Business at Mid-Wales Housing said: "the scheme is an excellent example of what can be achieved by working together with communities. We are very proud of this new development and are confident that the residents will enjoy living in their new homes".
