The Mid-Wales Housing Group Achieves The Highest Standard Awarded By The Welsh Government

The Mid-Wales Housing Group, as a Registered Social Landlord, is pleased to announce that it has achieved the "Standard Award" from the Welsh Government Housing Regulation Team for Governance, Service Delivery and Financial Management. This Judgement, published in September, reflects that the Association has achieved the highest standard.

The Mid-Wales Housing Group includes Mid-Wales Housing Association and Care & Repair in Powys.

The judgement is published in accordance with the Regulatory Framework for Registered Social Landlords in Wales and the related performance standard is designed to provide the landlord, its tenants, service users and other stakeholders, with an understanding of its financial viability and how well it is performing at a specific moment in time.

Mr. Shane Perkins, Chief Executive of Mid-Wales Housing Association, said: "the Association has consistently placed value on having the highest standards of governance and is pleased that the Welsh Government has also recognised that it has achieved the standard expected for the sector".

Mid-Wales Housing Association has also recently assisted in a Welsh Government Sector-wide Governance Review and the report will be published shortly.

The judgement received is as follows:

Co-Regulation Status – September 2017

  • Governance and Services - 'Standard'   (Identifies and manages new and emerging risks appropriately).
  • Financial Viability - 'Standard'   (Meets viability requirements and has the financial capacity to deal with scenarios appropriately).
