Working in partnership with Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service to conduct Home Fire Safety Checks

Maintenance and Housing Officers from Mid-Wales Housing Association have completed a Home Fire Safety Check training and assessment course to enable them to carry out fire safety checks on behalf of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The training consisted of classroom based training and onsite practical work over 2 days to enable the officers to identify fire risks and advise tenants on home safety.

Following the training the Housing and Maintenance Officers were able to provide advice on cooking safety, electrical appliances, using candles, bed time routine and assisted tenant's in creating escape plans.

The training will provide a higher standard of fire safety for Mid-Wales Housing tenants and enable additional advice and safety equipment to be accessed from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service as a partner organisation.
