Preview Of New Homes Is Another Big Success For Local Housing Association

Local residents and invited guests were given an opportunity to look around the houses currently being developed by Mid-Wales Housing Association at the Dolhafren site, Llanidloes on Wednesday, 30th September, 2015.

The event was a great success with attendance from over 100 local residents including those who will be moving into the new homes, local Town and County Councillors, Pickstock Partnerships staff, Mid-Wales Housing Association Board Members and staff as well as other invited guests. The Association was pleased to receive positive feedback from those who attended the event, including praise for quality of the build, the layout of the site and the well thought out spacious living areas.

The development will deliver a total of 31 new homes which are being developed in two phases. Phase one, which has recently been completed, comprises 25 homes with a mix of property types ranging from one- to four-bedroom houses, two-bedroom bungalows and one-bedroom flats. Phase two will consist of six homes of two- and four-bedroom houses.

The design and build contract for this development was awarded to Pickstock Partnerships from Maesbury, near Oswestry. The construction work is being managed by the Association’s project manager, S.P. Projects from Mold, and supervised by Mid-Wales Housing.

Nick Scott, CEO of Pickstock Partnerships, commented: “Pickstock Partnerships has been delighted to work alongside Mid-Wales Housing Association to assist in the delivery of this important housing scheme, providing 25 high quality, affordable homes to the local community. We pride ourselves on our ability to work in close partnership with our clients, providing a high quality professional service, with a proven capability to take a project from inception through to completion.”

Mrs Sian Howells, Director of New Business of Mid-Wales Housing, said: “We are delighted to facilitate the development in Llanidloes. The properties are highly energy efficient and have dual zone heating systems which will make them affordable to heat for our tenants. The homes have been allocated to applicants in housing need who live, work or offer some form of voluntary commitment to the area. “We are very proud of the homes that we have built at Dolhafren in conjunction with Pickstock Parnerships, and hope that the new residents will enjoy living in their new homes”.
